Our story

About Beloved
Lifecasting

A Sandbach, Cheshire studio dedicated to preserving the moments that matter most — one cast at a time.

How it began

Born from a desire to hold on

Beloved Lifecasting began with a simple, aching truth: the people we love change. Babies grow. Children grow up. Grandparents age. And the hands that hold us — those warm, familiar, irreplaceable hands — are never quite the same twice.

Our founder discovered lifecasting after the birth of his first child, overwhelmed by how quickly those tiny fingers were already changing. What started as a personal keepsake became a calling — and Beloved Lifecasting was born, right here in Sandbach.

Based in the heart of Cheshire, we work with families, newlyweds, new parents, and those who have lost a beloved dog across the region, creating handcrafted sculptures that carry the weight of real love in every detail.

The Beloved Lifecasting studio
"I don't just make sculptures. I make the thing you reach for when you miss someone, or when you want to remember exactly how small they once were."

— Founder, Beloved Lifecasting

Hand-finishing a life cast sculpture

The craft

Made entirely by hand

Every cast begins with a skin-safe alginate mould — the same material used in dental impressions — which captures every crease, every fingerprint, every tiny detail with extraordinary fidelity.

From that mould, we pour and hand-finish each sculpture using high-quality plaster or resin. The finishing process — sanding, sealing, and applying your chosen surface treatment — is done entirely by hand, taking hours of careful, quiet work.

The result is a piece that is entirely unique. No two are ever the same, because no two people are ever the same.

What we stand for

Our approach

Unhurried

Every session moves at your pace. There is no rush, no clock-watching — only the time it takes to do this beautifully.

Gentle

We use only baby-safe, skin-safe materials. Our approach is calm and considered, especially when little ones — or four-legged ones — are involved.

Personal

No two casts are the same. Each piece is shaped by the people in it — their hands, their story, their moment.

Lasting

We craft each sculpture to endure. These are heirlooms, not ornaments — made to be passed down through generations.
